I'm excited to announce, after much labor and love, I have published my first book. It is a labor of my love of fashion, art, black culture and history. The title is a saying my mother used to say to me when I would visit home as a young adult searching for my fit in the world. The title is fitting.
'Take Your Coat Off And Stay Awhile: A Fashion Design Coloring Book & Fashion Designer Stories is a different kind of coloring book. It is a story book with multiple layers featuring fashion illustration, fashion design, and a few stories about current and historical black fashion designers who have inspired me over the years. It is also a space where the reader can explore and create their own fashion designs using the croquis of various poses I have included in the book. It is my hope that this non traditional fashion coloring book will not only provide coloring activities, a space to create your own designs but inspiration as you journey through the pages.'
