To my glamdaughter, Aniyah,
I hope you find these special moments in time that we shared together and look back fondly on the times we had. Making and capturing memories is something I've loved to do for a very long time. I find that visual images of those times, to be a great comforter, a point of healing and a major way to leave a lasting memory through our digital footprint. As you move into the primary school, these are moments we shared the weekend before school started. You were so happy and excited to start school, that is all you could talk about. You already had your outfit picked out and your enthusiasm paved the way to a new school year. This weekend before the start of school, we got in so many beautiful moments at my apartment, outside in Cincy and on our last day together, we drover to Columbus and finishedthere. It was a time to be had. With your big personality, I would be remiss not to mention that we had a few glitches because like your dad, your mouth got in the way. Kidz! You quickly learned a new thing about grandma, that won't be something you can do with me or ultimately with anyone. Like your mom, said you may have to learn the hard way...but we'll do our best to be honest and upfront about the ramifications of getting smart with adults. In the meantime, we still had a fabulous time before and after.
We started with a little retail therapy especially since school started as you can see as we stopped by this model Ford car to take a picture in front of the Ford restaurant. The history of Ford Motor company is displayed in and outside with these model Ford cars.
We also visited our fav place to get pizza, Wholefoods. We both love their pizza so much! As we sat out side eating and enjoying the air, Aniyah says what does "open now mean" I look up and see that she is referring to the new boutique platform Macy's. Anyone who knows me, knows I LOVE Macy's. We make a B-line there and go inside. It was a very nice setup, a mini version of the larger Macy's store. We looked at everything, we even tried on perfume. Honey she and I both love Valentino...hope that girl gets a good job!
A few pics.
We squeezed in so much in two days, even a mini fashion show, but every piece of time spent was quality, fun time. We always have to get in our art activities. So I introduced her to a art fashion method, I've been wanting to try...mixed media. To be very honest, I wanted to keep it, it looked so good, but she wanted it. It combined the basic sketch, markers, colored print paper and actual left over fabric. Lol, she made me do the hair (which I have such a hard time with), put finger nail polish, lipstick, color the earrings and the shoes were all pink. She said, grandma you have to make the shoes rainbow like the dress...we decided on additional colors...she was right!
Our second day, was swiming and going to the Otherworld..a very different experience. Lol, my glamdaughter jumped into the Otherworldly portal with some swag...lol I don't even know if she can dance. I'm gonna have to check that out next time! Lol!
But, we hanging out on day two of our before school starts activities was fun! She loved this place!
She's holding a journal purse I bought her. She picked it out...talking with her I realized she needed a diary of some sort for her thoughta ideas and experiences. Lol, I told her where to hide it cuz it's her busines.
Making memories is one of my life's goals, and capturing it for those that come behind is an excellent way to leave your family legacy spending time with family and friends!
