Simply Me, Karen Marie
Always believe in yourself, no matter your age! After a twenty-year career as a college professor, I reinvented myself becoming a brand photographer supporting women to truly represent who they are and who they desire to be without apology! My purpose with this blog is to empower women with things I love; fashion, beauty, social and healthy food tips, and my passion for sewing and fashion design. Glow with me!

Fashion Bottle cap hair accessory and jewelry designs!

Summer is just about over, and I'm exhaling because it has been so busy for me!
But that's a good thing, right?! It can be overwhelming at times, especially when you
continually set personal and professional goals. The more you set the more you have to activate
those written or verbal goals into steps of WORK!

So here I have another goal of producing more products for one of my
favorite groups: Tweens, that fun, young and still sweet age! Yes they are!
Who are Tweens? They are that preadolescence age of 10 to 12.
But don't confuse them as passive and demure. They may seem quiet, but
this is a very thoughtful, creative group of kids with loads of artistic ideas!
This blog features my new product line for tweens in mind,
but also for creative businesses and fashion-minded adults like myself!

During my vending season, I always seem to have had young people who stopped by
my table and were mesmerized with my art notecards. It makes you feel good to have such young fans, but often they left without purchasing. Why?...there wasn't a need it seemed to purchase thank you, just thinking of you, etc notecards. While I do have some note card savvy young customers who I questioned: why are you buying a thank you card, etc.? They quickly replied who they were purchasing it for and why! Some bought my cards just because they wanted them.

But for those who were not in either group,  I've freely gave my cards away to them
because I knew they wanted them. The kids left very happy and so was I!
Some times you have to join kids where they are and for me it seems easy because if you've followed my blog for any time you can tell Ms. Jenkins loves the Kids! What I have learned about tweens,
especially the girls is that they love bright, and eclectic fashion, hair accessories; and they love art and craft projects. So I thought, why not bring all these elements together.
After careful, yet creative thought, window shopping at tween stores, and conversations with my photography mentee of two years; we came up bottle cap hair accessories and jewelry that feature Our and Soul photography. We're starting out using my photography but before long we'll be using Kilanee's images
Kilanee and I have been hanging out since she attended one of my photography classes two years ago. She is such a sweet, artistic and creative young lady. She loves fashion, hair accessories and she is very current on today's tween raves and news! Don't let her relaxed pose confuse you, she was simply happy and very comfortable.
On this date, I brought her to my apartment to help me put together the new bottle cap ponytail hairbands. She was so excited, another art excursion with Ms Karen! We worked with the materials and supplies I purchased and came up with a few designs.

We have designs that appeal to tweens and up to... what is your age?! :)
We have something for you, too!
Our bottle cap designs are styled with fashion and trend colors in mind. So think about your favorite outfit, t-shirt or consider your favorite company brand and color.  This young lady selected a hairband
that perfectly matched her clothes. She was so quiet when her mother, aunt and I discovered
that the hairband she selected precisely matched her purple outfit! The little lady knew exactly
what she wanted.

I tell you tweens are so creative! Kilanee is sporting the hairbands on her wrist!
And they look too cute too! Kilanee observed that the hair bands or fashion wrist bands
can be one-of-a-kind because each has a special look with a different colored bottle cap, a different
color and/or texture hairband with a different image. The doggie bottle cap fashion wrist band
was styled by Kilanee! And I love it! She took the colors of the dog image and matched it with the
zebra colored bottle cap and topped it off with the metallic silver hair band. Nice! And I also love
the pink lady lounging on the couch! I styled that one! Not too bad for an 'older woman'! :)

This bottle cap hair band or fashion wrist band is a take off from my graphic designed card called "let's connect" Show below. Remember small business owners can personalize Our Spirit and Soul
bottle caps designs with their own image or logo and give them out as party or event favors,
girl's party favors, as give-away gifts for your customers to remember your Brand! Just imagine!

I love shopping for hairbands now! They are so colorful and playful like this reddish-pink metallic band. Pink goes with so many things. I created the fun image for this design.

You might recognize this image! But could you imagine the above colors together? Well, Kilanee did! And she styled this piece! It is fabulous! Love the green, brown, yellow mix! It pops!

We're just starting out with bottle cap hair accessories and jewelry, so here I'm toying with how to present them. For a recent art show I used rolled colored card stock paper to feature the new products.  It worked somewhat,  but maybe you can help me with a more professional set up.
I'm taking suggestions!
