Encourage yourself through the arts!

Sometimes you have to encourage yourself! That was a saying my pastor often preached. It is a simple saying but it is so important. Too often, we often look for others to supply our happiness, our joy and even our encouragement. But God gave each of us the power of the word: the verbal and written word and each are powerful tools to lift one's spirit. Today, is my first entry into blogdum, if you will. The purpose and aim of my blog is to spread a little inspiration, encouragement through the power of art and writing. I truly believe that art and writing can serve as a means to lift one's spirit and encourage one to dream. In my blog simply called Karen's blog, I will share with you my photography and greeting cards designs from my business called Our Spirit and Soul, along with featuring a variety of art forms and artists ranging from visual arts, creative writing, music, my love of fashion, nature and my passion for children's photography. Within these mediums, I aim to underscore the importance of art, it's impact, and how it can be used to lift one's spirit.
